Launched in 2015, Creative Connections is a Sentient Meat initiative that pairs independent artists with individuals, organizations, and grassroots movements seeking high-quality creative services but lacking traditional access or resources. The program helps match illustrators, designers, writers, and multimedia artists with mission-aligned work — especially in underfunded sectors such as mutual aid, public education, and emerging nonprofits.
We facilitate client-artist partnerships that are both collaborative and fair. Artists are compensated either directly by clients or, where available, via microgrants and fiscal sponsorship provided by Sentient Meat. We provide administrative support, contract templates, and access to peer mentorship and documentation resources to streamline engagement for both parties.
Creative Connections has supported event branding, educational campaign visuals, accessible websites, illustrations for public health messaging, and more. Through this program, we cultivate sustainable creative labor ecosystems that prioritize ethical alignment, community benefit, and artistic autonomy.
Services offered through Creative Connections may include:
Whether you’re an artist looking for aligned work or an organizer in need of visual storytelling support, Creative Connections exists to build bridges between creative energy and collective need.
Creative matchmaking for artists & aligned causes.
1. You reach out.
Whether you're an artist looking for meaningful work, or an organizer in need of creative support — we want to hear from you. Fill out our contact form to tell us about your goals, skills, or project needs.
2. We make the match.
We review alignment, scope, values, and capacity — then connect artists and clients who are a good fit. Our team offers support through early conversations to help clarify expectations and deliverables.
3. You collaborate.
Once matched, you work directly together. We can provide templates for contracts, invoices, timelines, and accessibility best practices. Need fiscal sponsorship or grant support? Just ask.
4. Support along the way.
We’re here if you hit a snag. Our goal is to help the work happen smoothly and sustainably — without predatory pricing, ghosting, or unspoken labor expectations.
5. Option to showcase or sell.
Artists can feature completed projects, goods, or service offerings in our online etsy (The Meat Market) or participate in in-person sales at community events and pop-ups.
