Artist Residency

About the Program

This program provides inclusive housing and workshop space for resident artists, as well as the opportunity for residents to decrease their monthly program dues through volunteer work, including participation in guided build projects and/or education and outreach programs run through the organization.

Future activities will focus on development programs in Southeast Columbus neighborhoods including the Olde Towne East, Franklin Park and South Main neighborhoods. We intend to acquire new properties through the Columbus Land Bank, reducing vacant lots and transforming acquired properties into additional artist residency, workshop, and exhibition space.

Program Fee

Our program fee is kept low to increase accessibility, and includes all base expenses.

For 2021, our monthly residency fee is $500.

Residency Openings

We have room for up to four resident artists in our primary residency, with a second property opening up for residencies soon.

Resident selection is based on an application process that includes a residency application, portfolio or work samples, residency agreement, and optional additional materials. Selections are made by the board of directors as housing space becomes available.

As of June 2021, we currently have two residency rooms available.

Application Process

  1. Fill out the residency application
  2. Interview with a member of the board
  3. Interview with the current residents
  4. Complete the residency agreement

All residency program activity is operated under the safer spaces policy.
